Specialty Photographic Tour Itinerary

6 Day Photographic Tour Itinerary

DAY 1 (Lunch & Dinner)

All passengers to be collected at 6am in Alice Springs or 1pm on the same day at Ayers Rock Resort if flying into Yulara. After collection a picnic lunch and a tour briefing will take place. This allows our resident photographer to assess the skill level of each participant and to discuss the coming day’s program and objectives. We can also determine each participant’s expectations so we can best meet these goals and answer any photographic questions.

After lunch and our briefing we will head to Uluru Kata Tjuta National Park where our first stop is the Cultural Centre. From here we will visit Uluru and participate on a couple of guided walks at the base of the Rock including the Aboriginal Guided Kuniya walk. Then it’s time to view and photograph the infamous sunset over Uluru.

Accommodation is at Ayers Rock Resort campground with dinner cooked over the campfire and, following dinner, we have some time to do some printing and downloading as well as an optional workshop.

The Aboriginal people of the Western Desert region of Central Australia suffer rates of kidney failure up to 30 times the National average. When treated in urban centres, usually followed by their extended families, the prognosis for them and their family is grim. Being uprooted from their homelands, which they are profoundly connected to, kills the spirit.
A community based dialysis service has been set up out in their homelands so patients in need of treatment can do so in the place they were born with their family there to support them.
