Tingari Arts

Tingari Arts is located in Alice Springs, Northern Territory and specialises in contemporary Australian Aboriginal Art from the Central and Western Deserts.

Over many years we have developed a close relationship with many independent Aboriginal artists and provide friendly premises for them to paint in, together with facilities for their extended families.

Many of the artists who come to Tingari Arts are represented in major Australian art galleries as well as International galleries. These include Gloria Petyarre, Kathleen Petyarre, Walala Tjapaltjarri, Warlimpirrnga Tjapaltjarri, Mitjili Napurrula, Narputta Nangala and many others.

Tingari Arts sells directly to collectors and galleries nationally and internationally.    Paintings from Tingari Arts are currently in galleries in Melbourne, Surfers Paradise, Sydney, London and Tuscany, Italy.

To demonstrate provenance, artworks are sold with an Authenticity Certificate.   These Certificates provide the purchaser with information on the artist, the story of their painting (when permitted by the artist under cultural law) and photographs of the artists with their paintings. The artworks are painted on prepared Belgian linen using polymer acrylics.

All artwork is available for viewing by appointment in Alice Springs. Alternatively we can forward photographs of selected works via post or email. We can also arrange viewings via our agents in Sydney, Melbourne and Surfers Paradise.

The Aboriginal people of the Western Desert region of Central Australia suffer rates of kidney failure up to 30 times the National average. When treated in urban centres, usually followed by their extended families, the prognosis for them and their family is grim. Being uprooted from their homelands, which they are profoundly connected to, kills the spirit.
A community based dialysis service has been set up out in their homelands so patients in need of treatment can do so in the place they were born with their family there to support them.
